About Mauro Altamura

Mauro Altamura is a visual artist and fiction writer who has exhibited nationally and internationally. He's received grants and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and the New York State Council on the Arts, among others. His work is in private and public collections throughout the United States. He was a professor at New Jersey City University until September 2017 and has taught at many other institutions, including John Cabot University in Rome.
Altamura received an MFA in Visual Arts from SUNY Buffalo (1981) and an MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers, Newark (2009). He's a resident of Jersey City, NJ.
